Quick Links
Women, Infants, and Children are served by the supplemental food program known as WIC. The program provides nutrition and health screening, education and supplemental foods.
To be eligible, you must be an infant, a child under 5, a woman who is pregnant or breastfeeding, or a woman who has had a baby within the past six months. Participants also must meet income guidelines, have a health or nutritional need, and live in Menominee County or the reservation.
For more information or to apply, call the WIC office, 799-5444.
The WIC program has a lactation consultant on staff who will provide services to any women who use the clinic. A lactation consultant is a breastfeeding specialist who provides education and can help women who are having difficulty with breastfeeding. The lactation consultant can also help employers set up a designated room for employees to pump their milk for their babies. The WIC program also provides pumps to women who are separated from infants such as working outside the home. To reach this specialist, contact the WIC office at 799-5431.
